 Alex Moorhead

    Research Fellow
Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering
Politecnico di Milano

Alex Moorhead graduated with his Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Science from the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs in May 2013. He went on to graduate with his Master’s of Science degree in Biomechanics from the same university in May 2015. During his Master’s degree he performed research in golf product testing, exercise testing/training, and cycling dynamics. While studying for his Master’s he also worked as an intern in the Sports Medicine clinic at the United States Olympic Committee, Olympic Training Center where he helped establish their biomechanics laboratory and develop their experimental procedures as well as data analysis and reporting protocols. Upon finishing his Master’s degree, he moved to Milan, Italy to earn his Ph.D. in Integrated Biomedical Research within the laboratory of Physiomechanics of Locomotion with the thesis, “The damped oscillations of passive limbs and their effect in human locomotion mechanics.” Alex is devoted to understanding the fundamentals of human movement and applying them to all aspects of biomechanical research from basic inquiry to health improvement, injury prevention, and skill acquisition.

Research & Didactics Guests
Guestes

The Laboratory traditionally gives hospitality to researchers, experts or young graduated people coming from centers, laboratories and institutes, both Italians and foreigns, that they wish to deepen the acquaintance of the instrumentation, the systems and the employed methodologies. It is offered to participate to researches and management of the Laboratory or to develope an independent project, available to receive ideas and proposals also in other fields different from those classics of the rehabilitation and the clinical one.
