He is Professor of Analysis and Organization of Health Systems at the Degree Course of Engineering Biomedical of the Politecnico di Milano. He is the author of numerous publications on the main international magazines in the field rehabilitative and author of books of organization and analysis of health systems of the main industrialized countries.
He created the Laboratory of Analysis of Posture and Movement at the Department of Bioengineering of Polytechnic for the study of motor diseases, for functional evaluation and therapeutic methods. From 1979 to 1987 he is elected Deputy and member of the Budget Committee of the Chamber. For the period 1990-92 he is appointed Councillor within the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in relation to problems of control and simplification of documents financial, transparency, computerisation and reporting aspects. From 1994 to 2000 he is appointed and more confirmed by the Ministers of Health pro tempore Extraordinary Commissioner of the I.N.R.C.A., National Institute of Hospitalization and Scientific Care working in the field of research and assistance in geriatric field. In this role has achieved a deep and general organizational, health, scientific and technological restructuring of the institute. He has realized numerous laboratories, clinical and research, of excellence and a Telemedicine System that allows the cardiological control of patients of all Nursing Homes in the Marche region. In 2001 he is a consultant of the Regional Council of Lombardy for the analysis of the regional health system and for the study of new instruments protection of users, in relation to the definition of the Regional Social Health Plan. In 2002 he taught the Master promoted by the Lombardy region and the Politecnico di Milano and Director of two post-university specialization: quality of services and use of information technology in health, management of advanced systems in clinical research.

Matteo Zago

Graduated in Biomedical Engineering (2008) with a thesis on the biomechanics of the sporting gesture, Dr. Matteo Zago
has obtained the Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering in 2012 at the Politecnico di Milano, where he carried out a period as a research collaborator on the project “Design of a control system for an ATV vehicle”, at the Department of Electronics and Information.
In January 2016 he obtained his Phd in Morphological, Physiological and Sports Sciences at the University of Milan with a thesis entitled “Research methods in sports and clinical biomechanics”. It post-doc research fellow at the Movement Analysis Laboratory, Department of Biomedical Sciences for Health, University of Milan, and then at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering at the Politecnico di Milano, collaborating with the interdepartmental laboratory E4sport. He lent service as Research Fellows Representative in the Department Council. Currently Researcher of type B and holder of the course of Biomechanics near the School of Sciences Motor, Department of Biomedical Sciences for Health, University of Milan.
He is author and co-author of over 150 scientific publications (85+ articles in international journals, 50+ abstracts lectures, 3 chapters of books, 25+ popular articles in Italian magazines) in the field of clinical biomechanics and of sport. He has carried out extensive teaching activities in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses in several universities.
Active on the board of the European Society of Biomechanics, his research activity concerns the biomechanics of sports, accident prevention, and artificial intelligence applied to wearable devices. He achieved the “School of Sport” Award of the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) for the best research in Exercise Sciences Physical and Sports in 2020.

Prof. Carlo Frigo

Carlo Albino Frigo graduated in 1976 from the Politecnico di Milano, and began his scientific activity at Polytechnic in collaboration with the Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation Scientific Institute, where he contributed to the development a new research center, the Bioengineering Center, for the study of neuromuscular diseases and evaluation functional locomotion. It is part of the department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering and the School of Biomedical Engineering. Taught several subjects in the area of bioengineering of neurosensory systems, the biomechanics of movement, motor rehabilitation and postural, both at the Polytechnic and at the University of Milan (Degree in Rehabilitation Sciences). His teaching subjects are currently Evaluation Functional and Motor Rehabilitation and Bioengineering of the Motor System. Carlo Albino Frigo was among the founders of the Italian Society of Clinical Analysis of the Movement (SIAMOC), of which he was first Secretary and then President from 2007 to 2009; was a member of the Scientific Committee of ESMAC (European Society for Movement Analysis in Adults and Children) from 2001 to 2005; was one of the founders of the Italian Society affiliated to ISPO (International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics). Carlo Albino Frigo is editor and member of the editorial board of several magazines international scientists, participated in several research projects of the European Union and organized conferences and training courses at national and international level. Its main scientific interests are: analysis of movement, biomechanics of movement, motor control, musculoskeletal modeling and applications to diseases neuromuscular, motor rehabilitation, prosthesis and orthosis. In September 2012 he was invited to read honorifies Baumann Lecture at the 21st Annual Meeting of ESMAC.

Filippo Bertozzi

Filippo Bertozzi earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Motor and Sport Sciences in 2015, and a Master’s Degree in Sport Sciences, Preventive and Adapted Physical Activity in 2017 at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan. Then he has been enrolled in the doctoral program of Translational Medicine at Università degli Studi di Milano, producing a thesis entitled: “Towards a better understanding of the role of fatigue on ACL injury risk”. During his doctoral studies Filippo has conducted research at Movement Analysis Lab about motion analysis and sports biomechanics, with the dual aim of studying the biomechanical features of sports techniques and the risk factors relative to lower limb non-contact injuries. Additionally, he spent six months as visiting PhD student at Neuromuscular Biomechanics Laboratory of Montana State University, investigating the relationship between the biomechanical risk factors and cognitive performance.
Currently, he serves as a research fellow at the E4Sport Lab of Politecnico di Milano, doing research about sports biomechanics, functional evaluation, and measures applied to human performance. In addition, he is a member of the European Society of Biomechanics Student Committee.

Flavia Marrone
PhD student

Flavia Marrone graduated in Biomedical Engineering, with a specialization in Biomechanics and Biomaterials, at the Politecnico di Milano in December 2021 with a thesis entitled “Gait symmetry evaluation of subjects with hemiparesis using the cyclograms technique”. From May 2022 she is enrolled in the PhD in Mechanical Engineering. Her research activity is carrying out in the “Human Performance Laboratory – E4Sport” of the Polo Territoriale di Lecco and in the “Luigi Divieti Laboratory” in Milan. Her main interests are focused on motion analysis and performance measurement, as in clinical rehabilitation.

Fulvio Dal Farra

Fulvio Dal Farra graduated in Physiotherapy in 2006 at University Vita-Salute San Raffaele and he obtained a Master’s degree in Rehabilitative Sciences for healthcare professions in 2020 at University of Florence, defending a thesis entitled: “ Efficacy of therapeutic exercise in elderly people with chronic non-specific low back pain: a systematic review and meta-analysis”.
He carries out clinical activities in his own practice and, since April 2023, he undertook a PhD course in “Technology for Health” at University of Brescia, mainly attending the Movement Analysis Department at Politecnico di Milano.
Since he was interested in musculoskeletal disorders for many years, his research topic in now focused on the identification of functional subgroups for non-specific low back pain patients through instrumental analysis of the movement. In this case, it could be possible to adopt highly-specific and tailored rehabilitative strategies for subjects suffering from this condition.
